We disrupt this weekly email for an important PSA.
Every year, tens, maybe even hundreds of students are stranded at college, not being able to go home for Thanksgiving. While the rest of the student population gets to go home to sleep on their old beds, eat delicious food, and to enjoy the warmth and comfort of home, these stranded students (often called Pitiful People, or PP) will wander empty dorm hallways, eat terrible DC food or local Chinese takeout, and play Monopoly with themselves. Sometimes, these PP will also try to battle their loneliness with ill attempts of bad movie marathons.
But at this week’s Wednesday meeting, Cal Q&A is providing a support group for these PP. Come out to this safe space to be able to meet and network with other PP. You will be able to hear and share stories of your sad, crippling situation. Activities are still TBD but rest assured, you will not have to suffer through one more game of Scrabble by yourself.
